Carol McClelland Fields, PhD, BCC

I’ve spent more than 25 years helping my clients navigate significant transitions (evolving your work qualifies!) and gain clarity about the core focus of their work.

I’ve supported entrepreneurs in finding aligned ways to grow and evolve their business.

I have evolved my business at least six times since 1991.

I’ve written and published 5 books, several coach training programs, a few online programs, and numerous eBooks.

I look forward to supporting you in creating the next iteration of your work.

This Collaborative Deepening Retreat gives us an opportunity to work together on your project. It’s amazing how much we can do in this two-session retreat format I describe below.

The Collaborative Deepening Retreat is best if you want to work together to:

  • Design a new business model

  • Develop a model or framework for your work

  • Craft an experiment

  • Work on another project

This in-depth two-session Collaborative Deepening Retreat will give you renewed clarity about your project, new layers of insight and details about your work, and a series of next steps for further development.

In this session we work together throughout the process, not as a mentor and mentee, but as colleagues co-creating and deepening what you know about your work.

Here’s how it works

  • Pre-Retreat Questions. Prior to our first session, you’ll answer a series of questions so that we begin our collaborative work with a shared sense of your starting point.

  • First 90-Minute to 2-Hour Session. We will begin by understanding the scope of your project. Our conversation will highlight where you are clear and where you need to focus to strengthen your project. Through our conversation we’ll begin filling in details you know and new details you discover. We’ll make note of any gaps in your understanding and knowledge.

    • Link to the audio recording. Clients often gain additional insights by listening to the session a second time.

    • Detailed notes. I will clean up and strengthen the notes we created during the session. This Development Document becomes our reference document throughout our work together and beyond.

    • Questions. During or right after the session, I’ll create a set of questions for you to ponder, explore, and write about between sessions.

  • Second 90-Minute to 2-Hour Session. In this session we’ll begin by reviewing your additions to the Development Document. We’ll lean in for a second pass to strengthen, reorganize, expand, and refine the key concepts that are relevant to the next step in your project’s development.

    • What’s Next. At the end of the second session, we’ll lay out your next steps based on your project and your goals.

    • As before, I will send you a link to the audio recording, detailed notes from our session, and questions you can use to guide you as you move forward.

  • A Follow-Up Session. At the end of this Deepening Retreat, we’ll meet for a 30-45 minute session to tie up loose ends and create a plan for you to follow as you move forward.

If you would like to continue our collaborative work or follow up after you’ve made more progress on your own, you can sign up for a Mentoring Session, another Collaborative Deepening Retreat, or a short follow-up session or materials review service I extend to my existing clients. This next round could happen immediately or in the future based on your development journey.

Having had a business for over 11 years, that I created, developed and sold, I understand just how essential it is to have a strong foundation built on a clear focus and a clear message. I grew that company quickly because I was so clear.

But as I was transitioning from the release of this first business into the next iteration of my work I was struggling with the clarity about the focus of my new work and who I was serving. It was feeling so frustrating! How I had always defined my ideal client and how I communicated my message was no longer working for me because it didn’t fit with how I had evolved, but I couldn’t figure out why or what to do differently.

After wasting so much time on my own trying to figure it out, I decided to hire Carol to help draw my focus out of me. I am so grateful for her help. She was able to hone in on what my issue was, to help me see in greater detail how my work and who I was serving had evolved, and then to put it all together to see the bigger picture of how everything fits together.

I really enjoyed the process of working with Carol and appreciated her ability to see behind the issues and draw out what was most important. Clarity of focus is a KEY first step in growing your business so if you are having trouble articulating what you do in a meaningful way that resonates with you, get the help! It’s so worth it. Your growth depends on it!

I am feeling so excited about having clarity so I can now move onto the next phase of development and onto honouring my purpose.

  • After our conversation you'll have the time you need to make the right decision for you. I do not use pressure tactics; that kind of an environment is not helpful to either one of us.
